KUALA LUMPUR: Sultan Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah berkenan mengurniakan watikah kepada enam ahli baharu Majlis Kebangsaan bagi Hal Ehwal Agama Islam (MKI).
Baginda yang juga merupakan Pengerusi MKI mengurniakan watikah itu ketika mesyuarat MKI kali ke-72 yang diadakan di ibu negara semalam.
Enam ahli berkenaan ialah Pengerusi Bursa Malaysia, Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar, Pengerusi Majlis Kepimpinan Pusat Kewangan Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (MIFC), Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar dan Ahli Dewan Negara yang juga anggota Majlis Agama Islam Selangor, Datuk Salehuddin Saidin.
Turut menerima watikah berkenaan ialah Pengarah Pusat Dialog Peradaban Universiti Malaya, Datuk Dr Azizan Baharuddin, bekas ketua pengarah Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM), Datuk Mohamad Nordin Ibrahim dan Felo Pusat Pengajian Islam Oxford, Universiti Oxford, Datuk Dr Afifi Al-Akiti.
Sementara itu, Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri (Hal Ehwal Agama), Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar menjunjung kasih dengan perkenan Majlis Raja-Raja dengan pelantikan berkenaan yang berkuat kuasa serta merta dalam tempoh dua tahun – Alhijrah Online
