KUALA LUMPUR: Seorang lelaki ditahan polis hari ini, bagi membantu siasatan berhubung hantaran berunsur penghinaan terhadap Nabi Muhammad SAW di laman Facebook.
Pengarah Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah (JSJ) Bukit Aman Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan berkata, suspek berusia 50 tahun itu ditahan di Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam kira-kira 11.15 pagi dan polis turut merampas telefon bimbit yang digunakannya untuk memuat naik hantaran berkenaan.
Katanya, hantaran tersebut dimuat naik menerusi akaun Facebook Uthaya Sankar SB yang berunsur penghinaan terhadap Nabi Muhammad SAW pada Khamis lalu.
“Kertas siasatan dibuka mengikut Seksyen 298A Kanun Keseksaan kerana menyebabkan atas alasan agama suasana tidak harmoni atau perasaan permusuhan atau memudaratkan perpaduan.
“Selain itu, kes juga disiasat mengikut Seksyen 233 Akta Komunikasi dan Multimedia 1998 kerana penggunaan tidak wajar terhadap kemudahan rangkaian atau perkhidmatan rangkaian,” katanya dalam kenyataan media hari ini.
Tambah beliau siasatan dijalankan oleh Unit Siasatan Jenayah Terkelas (USJT) Bahagian Pendakwaan Undang-Undang (D5) JSJ Bukit Aman.
Ujar Abd Jalil, polis akan mendapatkan perintah reman esok mengikut Seksyen 117 Kanun Tatacara Jenayah dan siasatan terhadap kes itu masih diteruskan.
“Orang ramai diminta tidak membuat sebarang spekulasi yang boleh menjejaskan siasatan.
“Polis menyeru orang ramai untuk menggunakan platform media sosial sebaik mungkin tanpa menyentuh sensitiviti agama dan kaum,” katanya.—AlHijrah Online
