JEMAAH UMRAH PERLU IMBAS BIOMETRIK UNTUK MOHON E-VISA
Jemaah perlu menggunakan aplikasi Saudi Visa Bio yang membolehkan pendaftaran secara pengesahan biometrik meliputi cap jari, wajah, mata dan salinan pasport untuk menghadiri ibadah umrah.
KUALA LUMPUR: Jemaah Malaysia kini antara yang diwajib menggunakan imbasan biometrik bagi mendapatkan visa umrah elektronik (E-Visa).
Kementerian Haji dan Umrah Arab Saudi yang dipetik Agensi Berita Saudi (SPA) pada Ahad mengumumkan jemaah umrah dari lima negara – UK, Tunisia, Kuwait, Bangladesh dan Malaysia – wajib menyediakan data biometrik masing-masing, antaranya cap jari.
“Jemaah perlu menggunakan aplikasi Saudi Visa Bio yang membolehkan pendaftaran secara pengesahan biometrik meliputi cap jari, wajah, mata dan salinan pasport untuk menghadiri ibadah umrah”, kata kementerian itu.
Aplikasi baharu itu merupakan komitmen kerajaan Arab Saudi untuk membenarkan pendaftaran biometrik menerusi peranti mudah alih, sekaligus menjadikannya antara yang pertama di dunia menerima pengesahan biometrik menerusi telefon pintar untuk pengeluaran visa.
Kementerian turut menjelaskan bahawa inisiatif ini dibangunkan bagi memudahkan urusan jemaah yang ingin ke Mekah tanpa perlu mengunjungi pejabat visa secara fizikal.-AlHijrah Online
