PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia memantau secara rapat perkembangan situasi di Syria serta potensi implikasinya terhadap kestabilan serantau.
Kementerian Luar Negeri dalam satu kenyataan pada Ahad memaklumkan bahawa pihaknya melalui Konsul Kehormat Malaysia di Syria sedang berhubung secara berterusan dengan rakyat Malaysia di negara itu.
“Setakat ini, semua 37 pelajar Malaysia dan lima rakyat Malaysia lain yang berdaftar di negara itu dilaporkan selamat,” menurutnya dalam satu kenyataan.
Kementerian Luar Negeri menyatakan pihaknya akan terus memantau dengan rapat keadaan dan memberikan maklumat terkini untuk memastikan keselamatan dan kesejahteraan rakyat Malaysia.
Rakyat Malaysia di rantau itu juga digalakkan untuk mendaftar melalui E-Konsular di https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my bagi menerima maklumat terkini dan bantuan jika diperlukan.
Kementerian itu turut memaklumkan bahawa rakyat Malaysia yang memerlukan bantuan konsular, mereka diminta menghubungi Konsul Kehormat Malaysia di Syria atau Kedutaan Besar Malaysia di Amman.
