Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim mengadakan lawatan ke Batu Caves petang ini bagi meninjau persiapan sambutan Hari Thaipusam yang akan diraikan penganut Hindu, Ahad ini.
KUALA LUMPUR: Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim mengadakan lawatan ke Batu Caves petang ini bagi meninjau persiapan sambutan Hari Thaipusam yang akan diraikan penganut Hindu, Ahad ini.
Lawatan itu tertumpu di kawasan Kuil Sri Subramaniar Swamy Batu Caves, lokasi utama yang menjadi tumpuan penganut Hindu dari dalam dan luar negara setiap tahun bagi melaksanakan upacara keagamaan sempena Thaipusam.
Ketibaan beliau kira-kira 2.30 petang disambut Menteri Digital Gobind Singh Deo, Menteri Sumber Manusia Datuk Seri R. Ramanan, Menteri Besar Selangor Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari serta pengurusan kuil sebelum dibawa meninjau beberapa lokasi utama.
Antara lokasi dilawati ialah laluan perarakan dan reruai kementerian serta agensi di tapak MADANI Thaipusam yang menyediakan pelbagai perkhidmatan kepada pengunjung, termasuk pemeriksaan kesihatan.
Dalam lawatan kira-kira sejam itu, Anwar turut meluangkan masa beramah mesra dengan penganut dan sukarelawan yang terlibat dalam persiapan sambutan, selain menghadiri taklimat bersama pihak pengurusan bagi memastikan perayaan berlangsung lancar dan selamat.
Perarakan pedati dari Kuil Sri Maha Mariamman Dhevasthanam di Jalan Tun H.S. Lee menuju ke Batu Caves 9 malam ini menandakan bermulanya sambutan Thaipusam.
Bagi melancarkan perarakan, sebanyak 12 persimpangan jalan di sekitar ibu negara akan ditutup dan dilencongkan secara berperingkat, termasuk persimpangan Jalan Leboh Ampang/Jalan Perak, Jalan Tun Perak/Jalan Pudu, Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock/Jalan Sultan, Jalan Sultan/Jalan Hang Jebat serta Jalan Sultan/Jalan Petaling.–AlHijrah Online
