KERAJAAN TIDAK SETUJU CADANGAN WUJUDKAN MENTERI AGAMA BUKAN ISLAM – PM ANWAR
Kerajaan tidak bersetuju dengan cadangan untuk mewujudkan portfolio Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri (Hal Ehwal Agama) bagi bukan Islam, kata Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Beliau berkata cadangan itu tidak diterima oleh Jemaah Menteri, dan melihatnya sebagai pandangan peribadi seorang Ahli Parlimen.
“Kita ada Menteri Agama, Menteri Perpaduan, ada jawatankuasa harmoni yang mewakili semua kaum, semua agama di Malaysia, jadi saluran itu memadai.
“Soal pelantikan itu (jawatan Menteri) pun budi bicara Perdana Menteri, dan ia tiada dalam perkiraan,” katanya ketika ditemui pemberita selepas menunaikan solat Jumaat di Masjid As-Salam di Puchong Perdana di sini hari ini.
Terdahulu, media melaporkan Ahli Parlimen Raub Chow Yu Hui ketika membahaskan Usul Menjunjung Kasih Titah Diraja di Dewan Rakyat pada Rabu, mencadangkan supaya portfolio Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri (Hal Ehwal Agama) dipecahkan kepada dua iaitu khusus untuk Islam dan bukan Islam.
Yu Hui dilapor berkata langkah itu penting bagi memperkukuh perpaduan dalam kalangan rakyat berbilang kaum di negara ini dan memastikan tiada pihak yang terpinggir.–AlHijrah Online
