PERHIMPUNAN KESIHATAN SEDUNIA LULUS CADANGAN KIBAR BENDERA PALESTIN DI IBU PEJABAT, PEJABAT WHO
Perhimpunan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHA) pada Isnin meluluskan usul bagi membenarkan bendera negara pemerhati bukan ahli dikibarkan di ibu pejabat dan pejabat Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO).
GENEVA: Perhimpunan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHA) pada Isnin meluluskan usul bagi membenarkan bendera negara pemerhati bukan ahli dikibarkan di ibu pejabat dan pejabat Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO), lapor Anadolu Ajansi (AA).
Langkah itu membuka jalan untuk bendera Palestin dikibarkan bersama-sama bendera negara anggota WHO yang lain.
Usul itu diluluskan dengan 95 undi menyokong, empat menentang — iaitu Israel, Hungary, Republik Czech dan Jerman — serta 27 berkecuali.
Menurut resolusi itu, bendera negara pemerhati bukan ahli di Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (PBB) akan disusun selepas bendera negara anggota WHO, mengikut abjad.
Resolusi itu turut menegaskan bahawa langkah ini tidak memberi implikasi kepada status keahlian dalam organisasi berkenaan.
Perbincangan tertumpu kepada bendera Palestin secara khusus, dengan Resolusi 70/15 Perhimpunan Agung PBB dijadikan asas perundangan.
Draf resolusi berkenaan dikemukakan oleh 20 buah negara termasuk Malaysia, Algeria, Indonesia, Turkiye serta beberapa negara Arab dan Afrika. —AlHijrah Online
