MAYAT LELAKI TANPA IDENTITI DITEMUKAN TERAPUNG DI SUNGAI ALOR MERAH
Pusat Kawalan Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Kota Setar menerima panggilan daripada orang awam pada 8.31 pagi berhubung penemuan satu mayat di kawasan sungai berkenaan.

Ketua Polis Daerah Kota Setar ACP Siti Nor Salawati Saad berkata Pusat Kawalan Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Kota Setar menerima panggilan daripada orang awam pada 8.31 pagi berhubung penemuan satu mayat di kawasan sungai berkenaan.
“Sepasukan polis telah ke lokasi dan siasatan awal mendapati mayat yang dipercayai lelaki itu ditemukan terapung dalam keadaan tidak berpakaian di dalam Sungai Alor Merah dan dipercayai telah mati beberapa hari berdasarkan keadaan mayat yang telah mereput.
“Pemeriksaan lanjut juga tidak menjumpai sebarang dokumen pengenalan diri pada mayat. Mayat telah dihantar ke Jabatan Forensik Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Setar untuk proses bedah siasat,” katanya dalam kenyataan hari ini.
Beliau berkata setakat ini, punca kematian masih belum dapat dipastikan sehingga laporan penuh bedah siasat terhadap mayat itu diperoleh kelak.
“Setakat ini, kes diklasifikasikan sebagai mati mengejut. Polis meminta kerjasama orang ramai atau waris yang kehilangan ahli keluarga dalam masa terdekat untuk tampil membuat laporan di mana-mana balai polis berhampiran.
“Orang ramai juga diminta untuk tidak membuat sebarang spekulasi berkaitan penemuan mayat itu kerana bimbang boleh mendatangkan kegusaran kepada ketenteraman awam,” katanya. —AlHijrah Online
