1MDB: NAJIB DIDAPATI BERSALAH GUNA KEDUDUKAN PEROLEH RM2.3 BILION
Bekas Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak didapati bersalah atas empat pertuduhan menggunakan kedudukannya untuk memperoleh suapan berjumlah RM2.3 bilion daripada dana 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
PUTRAJAYA: Bekas Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak didapati bersalah atas empat pertuduhan menggunakan kedudukannya untuk memperoleh suapan berjumlah RM2.3 bilion daripada dana 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Keputusan itu disampaikan oleh Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah, yang ketika itu Hakim Mahkamah Tinggi dan kini merupakan Hakim Mahkamah Persekutuan, selepas mendapati pihak pendakwaan berjaya membuktikan kesemua empat pertuduhan terhadap Najib, 72, melampaui keraguan munasabah.
“Beliau didapati bersalah kerana pihak pendakwaan telah membuktikan kesnya melampaui keraguan munasabah bagi semua pertuduhan di bawah Seksyen 23(1) Akta Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM). Oleh itu, saya menjatuhkan sabitan bagi semua pertuduhan,” kata hakim itu.
Najib, 72, didakwa atas empat pertuduhan menggunakan kedudukannya untuk memperoleh suapan berjumlah RM2.3 bilion daripada dana 1MDB melalui cawangan AmIslamic Bank Berhad di Jalan Raja Chulan antara 24 Feb 2011 hingga 19 Dis 2014.
Beliau didakwa mengikut Seksyen 23(1) Akta Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM), yang boleh dihukum di bawah Seksyen 24(1) akta yang sama, yang memperuntukkan hukuman penjara maksimum 20 tahun dan denda lima kali ganda nilai suapan atau RM10,000, mengikut mana yang lebih tinggi, jika sabit kesalahan.
Prosiding masih berlangsung ketika Hakim Sequerah membacakan penghakimannya berhubung 21 pertuduhan pengubahan wang haram yang dihadapi Najib.–AlHijrah Online
