HAMPIR 150,000 PENDUDUK DI GAZA TERPAKSA BERPINDAH
Ketua Dasar Luar Kesatuan Eropah (EU) Josep Borrell berkata pada Selasa bahawa pertempuran terkini antara Israel-Palestin menyebabkan pemindahan hampir 150,000 penduduk di Semenanjung Gaza.
BRUSSELS: Ketua Dasar Luar Kesatuan Eropah (EU) Josep Borrell berkata pada Selasa bahawa pertempuran terkini antara Israel-Palestin menyebabkan pemindahan hampir 150,000 penduduk di Semenanjung Gaza.
Borrell berkata Semenanjung Gaza kini amat memerlukan bantuan kemanusiaan, lapor Agensi Anadolu.
“Jumlah korban semakin meningkat di Gaza, dengan 150,000 orang hilang tempat tinggal dan situasi kemanusiaan sangat teruk,” katanya selepas mesyuarat tidak rasmi menteri-menteri luar dari negara-negara ahli EU.
Pada mesyuarat itu menteri-menteri EU turut menegaskan pendirian mereka dalam pelbagai isu, termasuk pembebasan tebusan, perlindungan orang awam, menghormati undang-undang kemanusiaan antarabangsa.
Sehingga Selasa, jumlah rakyat Palestin yang terbunuh di Gaza mencecah 900, termasuk sekurang-kurangnya 260 kanak-kanak dan 200 wanita, menurut Kementerian Kesihatan yang berpangkalan di Gaza.
Sementara itu, jumlah mangsa yang cedera pula melebihi 4,500 orang.
Menurut Kementerian Kesihatan Israel pula, sekurang-kurangnya 1,200 warga Israel terbunuh dan lebih 2,806 yang lain cedera.
Israel juga telah memutuskan bekalan air dan elektrik ke Gaza yang memburukkan lagi keadaan kemanusiaan di kawasan terkepung itu.
Hampir 2.2 juta penduduk di Semenanjung Gaza telah hidup terkepung akibat pendudukan Israel sejak 2007.
Pertempuran terkini di Palestin yang melibatkan Hamas, pihak berkuasa di Gaza, dan rejim Israel sejak 7 Okt telah mengakibatkan kehilangan ratusan nyawa kedua-dua belah pihak.–AlHijrah Online
