PUTRAJAYA: Seramai 12 rakyat Malaysia yang terlibat dengan fenomena hujan lebat di Pergunungan Manali, Himachal Pradesh, India, masih tidak dapat dihubungi oleh ahli keluarga masing-masing.
Kementerian Luar Negeri memaklumkan kumpulan tersebut sedang menyertai ekspedisi pengembaraan di Hampta Pass, Himachal Pradesh, India.
Ketika ini Suruhanjaya Tinggi Malaysia di New Delhi sedang giat menyelaras usaha dengan pihak berkuasa tempatan untuk mengesan rakyat Malaysia di sana.
“Pihak Suruhanjaya Tinggi Malaysia juga akan terus memantau perkembangan di Himachal Pradesh dan menasihatkan rakyat Malaysia yang memerlukan bantuan konsular untuk berhubung terus dengan Suruhanjaya Tinggi Malaysia di New Delhi.
“Rakyat Malaysia juga dinasihatkan supaya lebih berhati-hati dan terus berwaspada serta sentiasa mengikuti perkembangan cuaca di setiap lokasi yang dikunjungi,” kata Kementerian Luar Negeri dalam satu kenyataan hari ini.
Tambah Wisma Putra sebarang perkembangan terkini mengenai status rakyat Malaysia yang terkesan dalam kejadian tersebut akan dimaklumkan dari semasa ke semasa.
Sebagai rekod, sekurang-kurangnya 34 orang maut di negeri Uttar Pradesh di utara India akibat hujan lebat dan petir dalam tempoh 24 jam lepas, lapor Xinhua memetik All India Radio (AIR) pada Isnin.
Menurut Jabatan Meteorologi India (IMD), Uttar Pradesh mungkin mengalami hujan lebat dan sangat lebat dari Isnin hingga Rabu.—AlHijrah Online
