KUALA LUMPUR: Lima individu termasuk pemilik agensi pelancongan swasta direman selama tiga hari bermula hari ini hingga Selasa bagi membantu siasatan kes penipuan pakej menunaikan ibadah haji.
Ketua Polis Selangor Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed berkata kesemua suspek yang berumur antara 30 hingga 60 tahun itu ditahan di sekitar ibu negara, kira-kira pukul 9 malam, Jumaat lepas oleh polis Kuala Lumpur.
Beliau berkata kesemua suspek itu diserahkan kepada pihaknya hari ini kerana kes itu dilaporkan berlaku di negeri itu (Selangor).
“Kesemua suspek yang ditahan termasuk pemilik agensi pelancongan itu dan juga isterinya direman hingga 12 Julai mengikut Seksyen 117 Kanun Prosedur Jenayah. Kes disiasat di bawah Seksyen 420 Kanun Keseksaan kerana menipu,” katanya ketika dihubungi Bernama hari ini.
Semalam, Ketua Polis Daerah Wangsa Maju Supt Ashari Abu Samah menerusi kenyataan berkata pihaknya menahan lima individu berhubung kes penipuan pakej menunaikan ibadah haji terhadap dua agensi pelancongan swasta melibatkan kerugian lebih RM2.37 juta.
Katanya, selain pasangan suami isteri pemilik syarikat berkenaan, mereka yang ditahan dipercayai pekerja dan ejen syarikat pelancongan berkenaan.
Khamis lepas, kira-kira 380 bakal jemaah haji dilaporkan terkandas di Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur (KLIA) dipercayai menjadi mangsa penipuan sebuah agensi pelancongan swasta.
Mereka dipercayai menggunakan visa furada, iaitu visa yang diuruskan sendiri tanpa membabitkan jumlah kuota yang diperoleh Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH).–AlHijrah Online
