KEMATIAN EMPAT KUCING DI UNIVERSITI AWAM DISEBABKAN GIGITAN HAIWAN LIAR – POLIS
Kematian empat daripada lima kucing di sebuah universiti awam di ibu negara tidak mempunyai sebarang unsur penderaan manusia, sebaliknya disebabkan oleh gigitan haiwan liar.

Timbalan Ketua Polis Kuala Lumpur Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob berkata punca kematian haiwan berkenaan disahkan hasil bedah siasat dijalankan Jabatan Perkhidmatan Veterinar (DVS) susulan laporan polis mengenai penemuan lima bangkai kucing masing-masing pada 17, 20, 21 dan 25 Dis lepas serta semalam.
“Bagi laporan yang diterima pada 2 Jan 2025, polis membuka satu kertas siasatan di bawah Seksyen 428 Kanun Keseksaan. Bangkai kucing telah diserahkan kepada DVS untuk bedah siasat,” katanya dalam sidang media perkembangan kes tersebut di Ibu Pejabat Polis Kontinjen Kuala Lumpur, di sini hari ini.
Sidang media itu turut disertai Pengarah Bahagian Regulatori DVS Dr Mohd Razli Abdul Razak, Pengarah Makmal Veterinar Zon Tengah DVS Dr Mohd Shafarin Shamsuddin dan Ketua Seksyen Kebajikan Haiwan DVS Dr Marzuna Md Yunus serta Ketua Polis Daerah Brickfields ACP Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood dan Ketua Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Kuala Lumpur SAC Mohd Razali Mohd Idrus.
Beliau berkata setakat ini, polis telah merakam 11 percakapan daripada kalangan pensyarah, penuntut, polis bantuan, aktivis haiwan dan doktor veterinar.
Sementara itu, Azry Akmar turut menasihati orang ramai supaya tidak membuat sebarang spekulasi berhubung kes berkenaan dan meminta mereka yang mempunyai maklumat mengenai kejadian untuk menghubungi Hotline Polis Kuala Lumpur di talian 03-21159999 atau mana-mana balai polis berhampiran.–AlHijrah Online
