KES COVID-19 DI ASIA TENGGARA MELONJAK 481 PERATUS DALAM TEMPOH SEBULAN – WHO
Jumlah jangkitan COVID-19 meningkat hampir 481 peratus di Asia Tenggara dan 144 peratus di Wilayah Mediterranean Timur dalam tempoh sebulan, namun kes di peringkat global dan kematian berkaitan COVID-19 semakin berkurangan.
MOSCOW: Jumlah jangkitan COVID-19 meningkat hampir 481 peratus di Asia Tenggara dan 144 peratus di Wilayah Mediterranean Timur dalam tempoh sebulan, namun kes di peringkat global dan kematian berkaitan COVID-19 semakin berkurangan, kata Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO) dalam laporan bulanan pada Khamis, lapor Sputnik.
“Di peringkat serantau, jumlah kes dalam tempoh 28 hari menurun di empat daripada enam wilayah WHO: Afrika (-45 peratus), Pasifik Barat (-39 peratus), Amerika. (-33 peratus), dan Eropah (-22 peratus); manakala bilangan kes meningkat di Asia Tenggara (+481 peratus) dan Mediterranean Timur (+144 peratus),” menurut laporan itu.
Kenaikan tertinggi dalam insiden dilaporkan di Nepal dengan peningkatan 1,198 peratus, daripada 49 kepada 636 kes baharu, di India, peningkatan 937 peratus daripada 6,374 kepada 66,124 kes baharu, dan di Maldives, peningkatan 614 peratus daripada 21 kepada 150 kes, kata WHO.
Menurut laporan itu, dalam tempoh 28 hari terakhir -13 Mac hingga 9 April, 3 juta jangkitan baharu dan lebih 23,000 kematian dilaporkan, masing-masing menurun sebanyak 28 peratus dan 30 peratus, berbanding bulan sebelumnya.
WHO berkata jumlah kematian berkaitan COVID-19 meningkat sebanyak 109 peratus di Asia Tenggara dan 138 peratus di Wilayah Mediterranean Timur dalam tempoh yang dilaporkan.
Sehingga 9 April, lebih 762 juta kes koronavirus kes disahkan dan lebih 6.8 juta kematian berkaitan COVID-19 direkodkan di seluruh dunia, kata pertubuhan itu. –AlHijrah Online
