Ketua Polis Daerah Gerik Superintendan Zulkifli Mahmood berkata pihaknya menerima laporan penemuan mayat terapung pada 5.40 petang semalam daripada orang awam di Sungai Perak berhampiran Kampung Jagor, Gerik.
IPOH: Seorang lelaki ditemukan lemas setelah dipercayai terjun ke sungai ketika melarikan diri daripada polis yang melakukan serbuan di kebun durian berhampiran Batu 6, Bersia dekat Gerik pada 25 Julai lepas.
Ketua Polis Daerah Gerik Superintendan Zulkifli Mahmood berkata pihaknya menerima laporan penemuan mayat terapung pada 5.40 petang semalam daripada orang awam di Sungai Perak berhampiran Kampung Jagor, Gerik.
Beliau berkata siasatan mendapati insiden berlaku ketika sepasukan anggota Bahagian Siasatan Jenayah Narkotik Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah Gerik menjalankan Op Tapis di kawasan terbabit.
“Suspek yang berada di lokasi kejadian bertindak melarikan diri ke arah sungai dan keberadaannya gagal dikesan selepas itu… pihak polis meneruskan operasi dan cuba mengesan mangsa sehinggalah ditemukan oleh orang awam di Kampung Jagor,” menurutnya dalam kenyataan hari ini.
Zulkifli berkata mayat mangsa berjaya dibawa naik ke jeti di Kampung Jagor pada 7.40 malam dengan kerjasama polis, Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia serta Angkatan Pertahanan Awam sebelum dibawa ke Unit Forensik Hospital Gerik.
Beliau berkata punca kematian tidak dapat dipastikan kerana keadaan mayat telah reput namun pemeriksaan mengesahkan tiada unsur jenayah dikesan pada tubuh mangsa.
“Kes buat masa ini diklasifikasikan sebagai mati mengejut dan mangsa telah diserahkan kepada keluarga untuk urusan pengebumian,” katanya.–AlHijrah Online
