ISTANBUL: Kira-kira 250,000 orang menyeberang dari Lubnan ke Syria berikutan serangan yang diperhebatkan oleh Israel, menurut Pesuruhjaya Tinggi Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu bagi Pelarian (UNHCR) pada Isnin, seperti yang dipetik oleh Agensi Anadolu.
“Saya berada di sempadan Syria-Lubnan, yang menyaksikan seperempat juta orang telah menyeberang sejak 23 September,” kata Filippo Grandi di platform X.
Pihak berkuasa tempatan, Bulan Sabit Merah Syria, PBB dan rakan kongsi sedang berusaha secara berterusan untuk memberikan tindak balas yang berperikemanusiaan dan cekap terhadap kemasukan itu, tambahnya.
Pada Sabtu, Grandi tiba di wilayah itu untuk bertemu pegawai, warga Syria dan Lubnan, yang telah melarikan diri dari Lubnan akibat serangan Israel.
Grandi berkata ratusan ribu orang kini berada dalam keadaan daif atau kehilangan tempat tinggal akibat serangan udara Israel.
Israel melancarkan serangan udara besar-besaran di seluruh Lubnan terhadap apa yang didakwanya sebagai sasaran Hizbullah sejak 23 September, mengorbankan 1,251 orang, mencederakan 3,618 yang lain, dan lebih 1.2 juta orang kehilangan tempat tinggal.
Walaupun terdapat amaran antarabangsa bahawa rantau Timur Tengah berada di ambang perang serantau berikutan serangan tanpa henti Israel ke atas Gaza dan Lubnan, Tel Aviv memperluaskan konflik dengan melancarkan pencerobohan darat ke selatan Lubnan pada 1 Oktober.–AlHijrah Online
