GAZA CITY: Tabung Penduduk Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (UNFPA) berkata 50,000 wanita hamil di Semenanjung Gaza tidak memperoleh akses perkhidmatan kesihatan asas.

Agensi PBB itu berkata ibu hamil, termasuk kira-kira 5,500 yang dijangka bersalin bulan ini, bergelut untuk mendaparkan khidmat penjagaan kesihatan.
Wakil UNFPA untuk Palestin, Dominic Allen, berkata sistem penjagaan kesihatan di Gaza kini diambang kemusnahan.
“Bayangkan kesukaran yang mereka lalui dalam peringkat akhir untuk bersalin, dengan kemungkinan komplikasi, tanpa pakaian, kebersihan, sokongan dan tiada kepastikan mengenai keadaan mereka dan anak yang bakal lahir,” lapor Agensi Anadolu memetik kenyataan Allen.
Allen berkata di hospital, ada bidan yang tidak dapat datang ke wad bersalin untuk bertugas berikutan keadaan berbahaya.
Beliau menggesa supaya akses kepada bantuan dan bekalan kemanusiaan di kawasan itu dipermudah.
Keadaan di Semenanjung Gaza semakin teruk, dengan Israel mengenakan sekatan yang ketat dan tidak berperikemanusiaan ke atas penduduk, selain percubaan untuk memaksa penduduk berpindah ke bahagian selatan. — AlHijrah Online
