DATUK BANDAR BERAGAMA ISLAM DILARANG MASUK KE MAJLIS AIDILFITRI RUMAH PUTIH

WASHINGTON: Seorang datuk bandar beragama Islam didakwa dihalang daripada menyertai sambutan Aidilfitri Rumah Putih yang turut dihadiri Presiden Joe Biden, pada Isnin, lapor Agensi Anadolu.
Dalam satu kenyataan, Majlis Perhubungan Amerika-Islam di New Jersey (CAIR-NJ) menyelar tindakan perkhidmatan United States Secret Service terhadap Datuk Bandar Mohamed T. Khairullah yang telah lama berkhidmat di New Jersey.
Menurut CAIR-NJ, Rumah Putih hanya memaklumkan beliau tidak dibenarkan masuk sejurus sebelum majlis bermula.
Pengarah Eksekutif CAIR-NJ Selaedin Maksut dalam satu kenyataan berkata tindakan itu disifatkan sebagai satu penghinaan dan tidak boleh diterima.
“Kami meminta Rumah Putih supaya mengetepikan keputusan itu dan menjemput semua Datuk Bandar, membatalkan senarai pantau dan mengemukakan permohonan maaf kepada Datuk Bandar,” kata Maksut.
Jurucakap perkhidmatan itu, Anthony Guglielmi dalam satu kenyataan mengesahkan bahawa Khairullah tidak dibenarkan masuk ke Rumah Putih untuk turut sama menghadiri majlis berkenaan.–AlHijrah Online
