KOTA TINGGI: Empat mayat lelaki tanpa identiti ditemukan terapung di lokasi berbeza di sekitar perairan Johor Timur dalam tempoh masa 48 jam sejak Selasa lepas.
Timbalan Pengarah (Operasi) Zon Maritim Tanjung Sedili Komander Maritim Mohd Najib Sam berkata Pusat Penyelaras Mencari dan Menyelamat Maritim (MRSC) Johor Bahru menerima maklumat penemuan dua mayat terapung oleh nelayan tempatan pada Selasa lepas di perairan Pulau Lima, masing-masing pada pukul 12.50 tengah hari dan 1.10 tengah hari.
“Dua mayat lagi ditemukan semalam iaitu satu mayat ditemukan oleh pemancing di kedudukan 8.6 batu nautika timur laut Tanjung Balau pada pukul 10.30 pagi, manakala satu lagi mayat ditemukan oleh nelayan tempatan di kedudukan 16 batu nautika timur laut Tanjung Sedili Besar kira-kira pukul 12.40 tengah hari,” katanya dalam kenyataan hari ini.
Menurut beliau keempat-empat mayat telah diserahkan kepada pihak polis dan dibawa ke Hospital Kota Tinggi untuk tindakan lanjut.
Mohd Najib berkata kesemua mangsa disyaki warga asing dan kemungkinan berlakunya kejadian bot karam, namun setakat ini MRSC Johor Bahru atau mana-mana balai polis belum menerima sebarang aduan mengenai orang hilang di laut.
“MRSC Johor Bahru juga telah bertanya kepada pihak Badan Nasional Pencarian dan Pertolongan (BASARNAS) Indonesia, namun tiada dilaporkan orang hilang setakat ini,” katanya.
