Israel menggempur Semenanjung Gaza sejak Oktober lepas yang menyaksikan sekurang-kurangnya 28,775 orang terbunuh manakala lebih 68,552 yang lain cedera selain menyebabkan kemusnahan besar-besaran dan kekurangan barang keperluan.
ROM: Israel tidak seharusnya menyerang Rafah, kata Timbalan Perdana Menteri dan Menteri Luar Itali Antonio Tajani pada Jumaat, lapor Agensi Anadolu.
Tajani berkata demikian pada sidang akhbar sejurus mendarat di Jerman pada Jumaat bagi menghadiri Persidangan Keselamatan Munich kali ke-60.
Sempena persidangan itu, menteri-menteri luar negara anggota G7 akan mengadakan mesyuarat pertamanya pada Sabtu yang dipengerusikan Itali.
Tajani berkata negara aggota G7 boleh menggerakkan usaha ke arah gencatan senjata di Semenanjung Gaza.

Menurut Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu, peperangan Israel ke atas Gaza telah memaksa 85 peratus penduduk di wilayah itu berpindah di tengah-tengah krisis makanan, air bersih dan ubat-ubatan manakala 60 peratus infrastruktur rosak atau musnah.
Mahkamah Keadilan Antarabangsa dalam keputusan sementaranya pada Januari mengarahkan Tel Aviv menghentikan genosid dan mengambil langkah yang sewajarnya bagi memastikan bantuan kemanusiaan sampai kepada orang awam di Gaza.–AlHijrah Online
