MALAYSIA BERDEPAN GELOMBANG KECIL COVID-19 SUSULAN VARIAN XBB
Berdasarkan data harian, bilangan kes baharu COVID-19 meningkat sebanyak 16.5 peratus, iaitu dari 14,525 kes pada Minggu Epidemiologi (ME) 42 kepada 16,917 kes pada ME 43 (23 Okt hingga 29 Okt).
PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia sedang berdepan gelombang kecil peningkatan kes COVID-19 susulan penemuan subvarian Omicron XBB di negara ini, kata Menteri Kesihatan Khairy Jamaluddin.
Beliau berkata berdasarkan data harian, bilangan kes baharu COVID-19 meningkat sebanyak 16.5 peratus, iaitu dari 14,525 kes pada Minggu Epidemiologi (ME) 42 kepada 16,917 kes pada ME 43 (23 Okt hingga 29 Okt).
Khairy berkata jumlah kemasukan pesakit COVID-19 ke fasiliti kesihatan (hospital awam) bagi setiap 100,00 penduduk juga menunjukkan peningkatan sebanyak 14.3 peratus pada ME 43 berbanding ME 42.
“Kita mengesyaki yang mendorong trend kenaikan ini ialah subvarian XBB yang jadi punca gelombang di Singapura yang telah ambil masa tiga hingga empat minggu untuk menurun.
“Barangkali kita juga berdepan dengan jangkitan varian XBB dengan empat kes telah dikesan sehingga 27 Okt lepas,” katanya pada sidang media di sini hari ini.-AlHijrah Online
