Seorang pengusaha stesen minyak didenda RM1,500 oleh Mahkamah Majistret Ayer Keroh hari ini selepas mengaku bersalah atas kesalahan memanipulasi harga produk ubatan.
MELAKA: Seorang pengusaha stesen minyak didenda RM1,500 oleh Mahkamah Majistret Ayer Keroh hari ini selepas mengaku bersalah atas kesalahan memanipulasi harga produk ubatan.
Majistret Nabila Nizam menjatuhkan hukuman itu ke atas Mohd Ashraf Mohd Yusof, 33, dan memerintahkannya dipenjara sebulan jika gagal membayar denda.
Mohd Ashraf membayar denda tersebut.
Mengikut pertuduhan beliau didapati memberi gambaran mengelirukan mengenai harga barangan Panadol Menstrual 10’s yang dipamerkan dengan harga RM5.40 berbeza dengan harga yang diimbas pada mesin pengimbas iaitu RM7.20.
Dia didakwa melakukan kesalahan itu di sebuah kedai serbaneka stesen minyak di Lebuh Ayer Keroh di sini pada 11.15 pagi 5 Jan lepas, mengikut Seksyen 12(1)(b) Akta Perlindungan Pengguna 1999 dan boleh dihukum mengikut Seksyen 25(1)(b) akta sama.
Pegawai Pendakwa Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Kos Sara Hidup (KPDN) Melaka Norhysam Mohd Noor memohon hukuman setimpal kerana kesalahan itu melibatkan produk kesihatan yang merupakan barangan keperluan asas pengguna.
Mohd Ashraf yang tidak diwakili peguam memohon denda minimum kerana kesalahan itu berpunca daripada kecuaian dan bukan niatnya untuk mengelirukan pengguna, selain perlu menjaga dua anak kerana isterinya seorang doktor yang berkhidmat di Perak.–AlHijrah Online
