KUALA LUMPUR: Dua pelajar Malaysia berjaya mengharumkan nama negara dalam Kejohanan Debat Bahasa Arab Sekolah-Sekolah Antarabangsa di Doha, Qatar.
Pendebat Malaysia Wan Amzar Izzuddin Wan Mohd Azlan diumumkan sebagai peserta terbaik pertandingan manakala rakannya Abdul Muizz Hasanulddin meraih pendebat kedua terbaik.
Difahamkan kedua-dua mereka merangkul kejayaan itu untuk Kategori Bukan Penutur Jati Bahasa Arab.
Wan Amzar dan Abdul Muizz merupakan pelajar Tingkatan Lima Sekolah Menengah Agama Atas Sultan Zainal Abidin (SMAASZA), Batu Buruk, Terengganu.

Kedua-dua mereka berjaya mengetepikan saingan peserta lain dari 34 negara yang turut mengambil bahagian.
Kejayaan manis dua anak muda Malaysia itu turut dikongsi bapa Wan Amzar Izzuddin menerusi catatat di Facebook.
“Alhamdulillah, Wan Amzar dinobatkan pendebat terbaik Kejohanan Debat Bahasa Arab Sekolah-Sekolah Antarabangsa di Doha.
“Abdul Muizz pula kedua terbaik. Kedua-dua dari Malaysia. Tahniah Malaysia. Alhamdulillah terbaik dunia,” kata Wan Mohd Azlan Wan Ahmad di Facebooknya.
Selain dua pelajar itu, turut mewakili Malaysia dalam pertandingan terbabit ialah dua pelajar dari Pontian, Johor iaitu Daing Muhammad Hasbi Daing Armey dan Khatib Sulaiman Mustafa.
Kejohanan debat itu kali keenam diadakan dan berlangsung dari 1 hingga 6 September 2023. — AlHijrah Oline
