PENGARAH APM KEDAH MENINGGAL DUNIA KETIKA MISI PENDAKIAN EVEREST
Pengarah Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (APM) Kedah Lt Kol Awang Askandar Ampuan Yaacub, 56, meninggal dunia ketika misi pendakian Gunung Everest, Himalaya.

KUALA LUMPUR: Pengarah Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (APM) Kedah Lt Kol Awang Askandar Ampuan Yaacub, 56, meninggal dunia ketika misi pendakian Gunung Everest, Himalaya.
Ketua Pesuruhjaya APM Aminurrahim Mohamed mengesahkan perkara itu selepas menerima makluman daripada Chef De Mission misi Malaysia Everest 2023 (ME 2023) itu Tan Sri Dr Salleh Mohd Nor.
“Semoga Allah terima segala amalan arwah dan mengangkat darjatnya di sisi Allah, semoga pemergian arwah menjadi kerehatan sebenar dari urusan dunia.
“Semoga arwah dilindungi dari seksa kubur dan semoga roh arwah ditempatkan di kalangan para solihin,” katanya dalam kenyataan ringkas malam ini.
Misi yang bermula awal April lepas turut disertai antaranya ketua ekspedisi yang juga bekas pendaki Everest 2016 Azim Afif Ishak, Muhammad Hawari Hashim dan Vincent Tiong Ling Yang.
Sementara itu, Menteri Luar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir berkata beliau telah dimaklumkan mengenai kematian Pengarah APM Kedah berkenaan.
“Malawakil kami di Kathmandu telah memaklumkan mengenai kematian itu.
“Kami telah mengarahkan Malawakil untuk memantau proses membawa turun jenazah ke Base Camp sebagai langkah pertama operasi itu,” katanya dalam kenyataan ringkas, di sini, malam ini.–AlHijrah Online
