PROSIDING ICJ TERHADAP ISRAEL: DUNIA BERHUTANG BUDI DENGAN AFRIKA SELATAN – KEMENTERIAN LUAR PALESTIN
Kementerian Luar Palestin pada Jumaat memaklumkan bahawa sistem antarabangsa “berhutang budi dengan Afrika Selatan” kerana mengheret Israel ke Mahkamah Keadilan Antarabangsa (ICJ) atas tuduhan genosid terhadap rakyat Palestin.
RAMALLAH: Kementerian Luar Palestin pada Jumaat memaklumkan bahawa sistem antarabangsa “berhutang budi dengan Afrika Selatan” kerana mengheret Israel ke Mahkamah Keadilan Antarabangsa (ICJ) atas tuduhan genosid terhadap rakyat Palestin.
Pihaknya membuat kenyataan itu selepas pendengaran awam yang berlangsung selama dua hari di ICJ selesai, lapor Agensi Anadolu.
“Kes Afrika Selatan mempamerkan bukti kukuh bahawa Israel sengaja melanggar kewajipannya di bawah Konvensyen Pencegahan dan Hukuman Jenayah Genosid,” lapor Agensi Berita Palestin (WAFA) memetik kementerian berkenaan.
Afrika Selatan mengambil “langkah berani” memikul tanggungjawab dan komitmennya sebagai negara pihak kepada Konvensyen Pencegahan dan Hukuman Jenayah Genosid.
“Rakyat Palestin terus berhutang budi dengan kerajaan Afrika Selatan dan rakyatnya yang berani menentang ketidakadilan ke atas rakyat Palestin,” menurut kenyataan itu.
Afrika Selatan memfailkan kes itu pada Disember, menuduh Israel melakukan genosid terhadap rakyat Palestin di Gaza dan meminta ICJ mengeluarkan langkah sementara untuk melindungi rakyat Palestin, termasuk menyeru Israel segera menghentikan serangan.
Israel telah membunuh lebih daripada 23,700 rakyat Palestin di Gaza sejak 7 Okt. Kempen ketenteraan itu juga menyebabkan pemindahan besar-besaran, kemusnahan dan kelaparan.–AlHijrah Online
