Hospital Al-Shifa di Semenanjung Gaza tidak lagi beroperasi sebagai pusat perubatan, kata Ketua Pengarah Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
ISTANBUL: Hospital Al-Shifa di Semenanjung Gaza tidak lagi beroperasi sebagai pusat perubatan, kata Ketua Pengarah Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus pada Ahad.
“Malangnya, hospital terbabit tidak dapat berfungsi sebagai sebuah hospital lagi. Dunia sepatutnya tidak boleh berdiam diri di saat hospital yang sepatutnya menjadi tempat selamat, berubah menjadi tempat kematian dan kemusnahan,” lapor Agensi Anadolu memetik kenyataan Tedros di platform X.
Beliau berkata sejak tiga hari lalu, kemudahan itu kekurangan bekalan elektrik dan air serta capaian internet yang lemah, sekali gus menjejaskan keupayaannya untuk menyediakan perkhidmatan penjagaan penting.
“Malangnya, jumlah kematian pesakit telah meningkat dengan ketara,” katanya sambil mengulangi gesaan gencatan senjata di Palestin.
Angka kematian akibat serangan Israel sejak 7 Okt kini melebihi 11,100, termasuk lebih 8,000 wanita dan kanak-kanak, menurut pejabat media kerajaan di Gaza pada Ahad.–AlHijrah Online
