Penyelaras perubatan MSF, Luna Hammad memberitahu bahawa lebih sejuta orang hilang tempat tinggal akibat pengeboman dan keganasan, termasuk di selatan Lubnan, Lembah Bekaa, dan kawasan selatan Beirut.
“Ramai yang kini hidup dalam keadaan sesak dan kotor.”
“Keperluan asas seperti air bersih, makanan, dan kemudahan kebersihan yang penting untuk mencegah wabak penyakit juga sukar diperoleh,” kata Hammad.
Lubnan kekurangan keupayaan untuk menangani krisis ini, yang semakin teruk akibat masalah ekonomi, letupan Beirut pada 2020, dan pandemik COVID-19, katanya.
Israel turut menyasarkan petugas kesihatan dan infrastruktur, menjadikan keadaan lebih rumit.
Sebanyak 800 tempat perlindungan dan sekolah dibuka untuk menampung mangsa yang kehilangan tempat tinggal, tetapi ramai masih mencari tempat selamat.
Doctors Without Borders berusaha menyediakan bantuan perubatan tetapi menghadapi halangan keselamatan.
Beliau menegaskan pentingnya pasukan kesihatan bebas bergerak di Lubnan dan menyeru bantuan antarabangsa, termasuk kewangan dan logistik.
“Krisis ini sudah sangat kritikal, dan jika berlarutan, ia boleh menjadi bencana,” beliau memberi amaran. – Alhijrah Online
