PERTINGKAT INISIATIF GALAKAN PELANCONGAN – MAJLIS PEMULIHAN NEGARA

KUALA LUMPUR: Inisiatif galakan pelancongan perlu dipertingkatkan selain penambahbaikan infrastruktur bagi memastikan industri pelancongan kekal berdaya saing.
Menurut Pengerusi Majlis Pemulihan Negara (MPN), Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, kegagalan usaha memulihkan industri pelancongan Malaysia dengan agresif pasca pandemik akan memberi impak negatif dan merencatkan pemulihan ekonomi negara.
“MPN mengesyorkan inisiatif galakan pelancongan dilaksanakan segera bagi memastikan industri pelancongan Malaysia kekal berdaya saing dan tidak ketinggalan dalam gelombang pemulihan rantau Asia Tenggara,” jelas Tan Sri Muhyiddin.
MPN memberi maklum balas berkenaan berikutan unjuran Kementerian Pelancongan, Seni dan Budaya (MOTAC) bahawa tempoh pemulihan bagi sektor pelancongan adalah selama empat tahun, dan MPN menyifatkan tempoh itu sebagai terlalu panjang.
Muhyiddin menyatakan demikian menerusi satu kenyataan media yang dikeluarkan selepas beliau mempengerusikan mesyuarat MPN Bil8/2022.
Dalam pada itu, mesyuarat turut memandang serius isu kenaikan kos sara hidup yang dihadapi rakyat Malaysia ketika ini.
“Walaupun kadar inflasi di Malaysia adalah antara yang terendah di Asia tenggara, namun impak inflasi tetap dirasai oleh segenap lapisan masyarakat dan berpotensi menghambat proses pemulihan ekonomi pasca pandemik.”
Sementara itu, dalam konteks kesihatan pula, MPN berpandangan, kesiapsiagaan sistem kesihatan awam negara juga perlu ditambah baik bagi menampung sebarang peningkatan jangkitan COVID-19. – Alhijrah Online
