PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia mengalu-alukan dua Resolusi berkaitan hak asasi mutlak rakyat Palestin yang diluluskan semasa Sesi Tergempar Khas Ke-10 Perhimpunan Agung Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu yang diadakan pada 11 Dis 2024 di New York, Amerika Syarikat.
Kementerian Luar Negeri dalam satu kenyataan memaklumkan, resolusi bertajuk “Demand for Ceasefire in Gaza” menzahirkan gesaan sepadu oleh masyarakat antarabangsa untuk menamatkan keganasan, memastikan akauntabiliti, dan mencapai keamanan dan kestabilan yang berkekalan di wilayah itu.
Manakala, resolusi bertajuk “Support for the Mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)” mencerminkan sokongan tidak berbelah bahagi masyarakat antarabangsa terhadap peranan dan mandat Agensi PBB berkenaan, serta komitmen yang jelas untuk menentang sebarang percubaan untuk melemahkan dan menamatkan operasinya.
“Malaysia menggesa masyarakat antarabangsa untuk melaksanakan kedua-dua Resolusi secara menyeluruh dengan segera.
“Malaysia berpegang teguh dengan pendirian berprinsip dalam mendukung hak rakyat Palestin untuk membentuk sebuah Negara merdeka dan berdaulat, berdasarkan sempadan pra-1967, dengan Baitulmaqdis Timur sebagai Ibu Negara,” menurut kenyataan itu. –AlHijrah Online
